This past weekend saw the Seoul Survivors wrap-up their season in a successful fashion at the 1st Annual Jeonnam Rugby Tournament.
First up was a mini 10's tournament involving the Seoul Survivors, Gumi Barbarians and Jeonnam Aliens. In the first game Gumi nearly upset the Survivors in a game which ended in a 10 - 10 tie. In the second 10's game of the day Gumi and Jeonnam also played to a hard fought 10 - 10 tie. The Survivors found their legs in their second game and outpaced Jeonnam 30 - 10. With the victory the Survivors narrowly took the 1st place trophy for the 10's competition.
After a short break following the 10's tourney a "Barbarian" side consisting of Gumi and Jeonnam players clashed with the Survivors in a much anticipated 15's game. The Barbarians were no match for the structure and cohesiveness of the Survivors, with the final score 40 - 10 in favor of the Survivors.
Some Survivor highlights included Taylor Whitmer scoring his only try of the season in his last game for the Survivors and Luke Reidy constantly exposing holes in the opposition's defense with his incredible pace. The Survivors would like to wish luck to those who donned the Survivor jersey for the last time; Taylor Whitmer, Kurt Taogaga, Hikaru Tamoto, Brandon Johnson, Phil Guerrero and Jono O'Sullivan. Once a Survivor, Always a Survivor!
