 | | The Oakwood Cup | Another great day of rugby saw four teams turn out to an impromptu Rugby Tens tourney on the Han River. The Tokyo Gaijin failed to bring a full complement of 15 players, so the Survivors invited a combined Korea/Yonsei team to come out and join in the fun.
A four team round-robin saw some very close games. The Survivors A lost their opening game (their first loss of the season) against the combined Uni team. The Killer Bees managed to restore some pride by reversing this result in another close game. The Killer Bees then pushed the Survivors A all the way to the whistle, with Killer Bees MVP, Nick Horton, only just failing to score the winning try - but in the process tearing his MCL and putting him out of the trip to Beijing.
The showcase match saw the Survivors A pitted against the Tokyo Gaijin. This was another close fought game, with both sides fighting hard to win the inaugural game of the Oakwood Cup. The Survivors ran out eventual victors, allowing Jono to hold onto the Oakwood Cup 'all night'. Jacob 'Jake the Snake' Leonard showed off his skills with a fine display on the wing, securing the Survivors' MVP, and Matthew Downer was selected as the Gaijin's MVP.
