Seoul Survivors RFC

First of all a big congratulations to the entire team for the big win we got over the weekend. For those of you who haven't heard yet, we beat the Shanghai Hairy Crabs 13-12 in a real nail-biter. The final score pretty much reflected the game; while it is safe to say that the Survivors had an overall edge in ball control and field position, we kept giving the ball (& field position) back to them through penalties & errors. However, we still had enough left in the tank to hold on & chalk up our first W in the Yellow Sea Cup series. There will be a break for the summer now, following which the series will continue next fall with three more games; the return matches of the three that have been played so far. The schedule has not been finalized yet, but the games will resume most likely around the end of October / early November.

A big thank you should also go out to all of the people who came out in support of us on Saturday as well. Lots of wives/girlfriends/friends, as well as quite a number of US military rugby players from around the peninsula. Was especially great to see them out extending their support from the sidelines; we'll look forward to seeing them again soon as our season with them continues this coming weekend. I hope that when Beijing makes the trip here in the fall we will have an equal or greater number of people there to watch the game.
