Seoul Survivors RFC

To those of you who weren't at the pitch here it is the Match report
 
Firstly, in the two years I've been playin for the survivours I have seen it happen so much---  Bad refereeing!!  Yesterdays game was no exception and the continual lopsided penelty count just reflects may opinion!! 22 to 7  my last count!!  I'm not being a sour loser here but we must find a referee who has the ability to see beyond the breakdown and be a little more consistant!!!
 
But that isn't what lost as the game- The Devils totally out enthused us.(typos r abundant hell its sunday and no (les) I don't want to run it through a spell check -.

Alot was riding this match and from the kick off the Devils intensity was amazing their forward pack has always been there strenght and they were on us at every breakdown! They soon racked up 2 trys in the first 10 minutes and it looked liked the survivors were going to suffer a big loss!  Which we did, Roody came off after twisting his leg while defending and our back line did a major reshuffle !!!  The new guys turned up the heat and mason soon had us back in the match through some clever kicking and then Barney!! let rip a miricle ball whilst being driven over the sideline 15 m out and the support was there we were over for our first try!! the Survivors were starting to feel the momentum switch!!  Again the Devils ripped into us but our forwards started to defend with power and there were many crunching tackles performed by both sides!!
 
I must say and I'm sorry fellas we were quiet shit at our lineouts and scrums! We lost alot of them and were penalized often for silly indiscretions, which for the ref's mind only seemed to occur when he was watching us!!! Load of shit really!!!  I think the Devils were being watched by God! And the two old fellas behind me were yelling insults consantly at the ref who inturn took no notice!!! So the game rolled on and another great rugby moment occured when Asia ( Our Tongan Giant) broke from the scrum drew 2 defenders offloaded to Jason in space! He did well to keep a very cool head by drawing the last of the defenders then offload to NZ Jeff who ran it under the posts!!!! So we were back in it - 14 to 12 !!  And I believe the Devils put on the next try either just before or after the commencment of half time!!  The Devils mixed up their play well using both their big forwards and kicking game to keep us out of their red zone!!! but soon the boys were back in action with a great try coming of the back off of some great forward work!!   So the game was in reach of both teams with twenty to go !!   The Devils got lucky off the kick off and one of our biggest forwards spilt the pill -& I must mention that as the devils put on one of their first successful backline movements the centre broke our line But as the cover defense smashed him before he could get the kick away he knocked on and the Ref let it continue and the devils regathered  chipped ahead and a major flipout of concerntration saw our last line of defence let it bounce and the Devils big roving forward ran around the back and pounced on the lose ball to claim a great try!! They celebrated and we were 5 behind with 10 to go !!!
 
The game was not lost at this moment the fellas dug deep and big Yank John latched on to another clever Kick and nearly ran the lenght of the field only to be brought down meters from the line!!  Our backs really did shine in attack!!  The forwards than ran at the line in countless attacks and were on kept out by some great defense by the devils!!!  We even got a scrum in front of the posts ten out from the line but we lost that one!!  Then numerous lineouts put us very close to their line but we couldn't captilize!!!
 
Had our ability to always come back in the last minutes left us -- Well Yes - But  Survivors team reminds me of a Queensland team- Full of guys with great ability and spirit, who love playing and giving it their all for their mates!!!
 
 From the sideline critics, to the coaching staff (Ted & Dan, Bearnie) to the several players out due to injury and everyone of the fellas who step up at game time!!! It was a great show and we might of lost but the Devils earned it the hard way and they were very modest in their victory and our strangle hold of the Yellow Sea Cup is now over till next year!!!
 
I must mention that it was Big Buffalo Ben's last game and he played like a trooper all game in the front row!!! He tackled his heart out, crunched them and ran it out without fear - well done bro !!  Ur a great bloke it was awesome to play beside u !!! Other standouts were Mason who really mixed up his game ( thanks dan for the advice)  and the whole forward pack who smashed & got smashed all day - Fantastic!! The backs, well - for a group who haven't played together before u did a great jod with Jono and Jason, Brandon & co really combining well -
SHIT- I might have to train alot more to keep my own position!!! 
 
 
So off to Shanghi early next month- We haven't lost to the crabs before so we really want to keep that record intact, so I will see u at training maybe "Nextweekend"
