Survivors, so it has happened again & like all the others this tour had some wicked highlights on & off the field !!!
Friday nite on the most infamous 10s tour has always been huge & this one was like no other, in keeping with tour ethics only a few details can emerge but...
Seeing penni on fire is a must in ur life, the big boy caused quiet a stir at immigration![]() , on the bus ride in, in the reception, on the dance floor, grey stained fly eyes , self imposed prison issue g-strings and dance moves that send a team in stitches (a big mention goes to Ian's River dance as second on the floor) manboobs and his statue of David dance is there to impress as always!!!
With those antics aside all the team got to the pitch in a state of disrepair and we played accordingly in the 1st half, we pulled back some respect only to let a few down our flank to be beaten by a try or 2, who's counting. Big mention goes to the forwards for finding their rhythm and starting the turn of the tide for the rest of the day! We played the RSA Barbarians who topped the pool to play in the cup all the way to the semi's & lost to the eventual winners "Black Watch" which we never saw? Trys scored by someone - manboobs I believe. So we gathered around and prepared for the Macau team who ended up playing in the Bowl final (losing).
Hang on did I say all of the team ------ someone was busy counting their possible hairy crabs (pun intended) and got to the post game blight a good hour later!

Second game against the Macau team was a hard fought battle with our forwards playing a super game, everyone was involved and we found gaps here and there, Emu got smashed and spent five minutes counting constellations while Ra mastered his new post at half, with Darren and Manboobs making good use of shooters ability to put em into gaps!
Glory Boy lived down his name and the boys just put it together to pull of a 3 or 2 try lead over the Macau team, trys by manboobs and i believe aah I don't know was near unconscious, in fact I can hardly remember any one scoring but we must of to win!
The third game would have to of been our best up against the Alabang eagles ( shit I think it is the other way around !!! Who takes notes in Manila , bar fines excluded) Again Emu got smashed with his second head knock to the dirt and the details are all blurry but I do know that we broke them here there and every where, failed to finish all our opportunities but really stepped up in defense with everyone either making tackles or forcing them back inside to the rest of the team who were backing up like we were at war for each other! We came off knowing we had won convincingly and it was only 1pm with 1 loss & 2 wins we were set to play the Taipei Baboons at 10 am Sunday in the Plate Quarters!!!!- the pool,pizza, beers, massages and laughs n piss takens flowed till the wee hours of the morning.
The only serious injury at this time was Jin who stated he had "a little bit broken my lib" (that's rib) during a love tap gone wrong n' delivered by Manboobs which forced him to never take the playing field and go straight to the casino.
Others suffered from room loss (Tom "the knife of the night" left Ra locked out of his single for hours) hats were stolen, snaked and traded and others doubled up on the madness 'n poor old Captain America got a serious reality show of crazy Manila chick syndrome. Other dictators had a midget on show 'n many other things but those memories are for the few brave souls who put their body and money on the line and play for the survivors!
What might go down as a relatively tame night for the survivors - yes Ted I think we over prepared!!! Every one was on board and ready to Face the Baboons - another dose of Asians who have a complete disregard for the rules and we kept it in the forwards !! The first half was like watching Australia when they won the world cup or that France game where they tore up the All Blacks, we made holes, backed up scored trys, got the penaltys and made big hits!! Played to our game plan and were up 12 -0 but we should of scored 2 more times a combination of their continuous infringements or our last pass!! Forwards played really well got us moving and hurt them with some awesome rucking!! Now that's a wee bit of a broken rib!! 3 or more times and the backs held their line made busts n scored the trys!! Shooters & Darren's were classics and beers to them and us for doin it together
With 5 minutes to go the extra time in each half had caught up and we fell off in the rotation policy and at times we had only 9 on the field ( Where's Dans key player rotation policy now) and we let them in twice once through some scrappy play up the middle (a dead set knock on) and they spun it out wide and finally had us with their speed! Then through the middle on the next kick off, we hadn't even set yet and they took off down the blind side with few in chase! 12 all, extra time, their kick off. A forward pass for the catcher ( we forgot out game plan ) and boom 15 out from our line, scrum and they decoyed the blind, ran a very good line to draw and pass & they were over - us done n dusted and the rest of the day off!!!!! The Baboons lost in the final to the Nomads team,
We dusted off and watched rugby, drank a lot, laughed, and had an awesome meal !!!! Well awesome court session with shooter becoming the most entertaining man ( who could be a little, u could say camp!! with all his homo tendencies),
There is also now a new survivor cocktail mix that includes one Moldovan ass pint post filtered through a Giant Ewok (wokkie) cavern!!
It's a lovely wash down and is a great reward for those who can't stomach their Easter presents!!!!!! Overall a wicked tour and there should be more !!
Now that I'm only a touring 10's specialist I look forward to playing with ya guys in the most culture & pizza driven tour on the survivors schedule; Cambodia - start saving!!!
