Eleven of the bravest Survivors made the trek to Korea University on what was a cold but clear night to have a little fun under the lights ... initially there was only one light on however, thanks to some good ole' Korean ingenuity three others magically turned on. Kick off was delayed a bit due to some late arrivals however once the big digital clock struck 7:43 the whistle blew and the Seoul Survivors, amazingly enough, took part in a very calm, relaxed, dare I say jovial match of footy with Korea University. Due to numbers we were able to play 12s (we wanted 15s ... they wanted 10s, it seemed like a good compromise), the line up was as follows ...

For the entire month of November members of the Seoul Survivors Rugby Club have been putting their mustache growing ability to the test for charity. During this time these gentlemen raised money by showing off their hairy upper lip to the world. This past Sunday Mo-vember participants and friends gathered at Scrooges Pub in Itaewon for our Mo-vember Charity Shave Off.

In a first for Korean rugby, the Commonwelth Chambers of Commerce teamed up with the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism (MCST) to host an invitational rugby 10s tournament at Yonsei University, in Seoul. This was a dry-run for what is hoped to become an international tournament starting next year. The tournament ran well, with great facilities and good organization. As well as a men's 10s tournament, both the Seoul Sisters and Han River Pirates put on exhibition games, which were warmly received by the crowds.

Movember is a charity event in which men can grace their upper lip with the wild furs that once made us men. It is also an opportunity to raise money for a community project that is near and dear to our hearts. In Australia and NZ, Movember was started as a way to raise awareness of men’s health problems, specifically testicular cancer and depression. The Seoul Survivors, however, have decided to get behind the Seondeokwon (선덕원) Girls Orphanage.

The Survivors kicked off their winter training regime, with a bit of a twist. Tuesday night, Handball practice - 7.30 - 10.00pm at the Olympic Park in Jamsil. Training sessions are held inside the Korea National Sport University.
