 | | Manila_2010_team_photo | In the Survivors' 16th year at the Manila 10s, 13 brave souls braved the harsh weather conditions to compete in the 2010, Manila Rugby 10s tournament. Special mention to Perry Hendrick for coming all the way from Hawaii, and also winning back of the tournament.
 | | manilla_10s | The Survivors started Saturday seeded in the top division. They lost their first game to the Taipei Giants, with forward of the tournament, Justin Jackson, scoring the Survivors' only try. The second game was against the home team, Manila Nomads. With a strong forwards display, the Survivors were able to win the game by 3 scores to 1. The final match of Saturday was against the Scottish Black Watch, the Survivors put in a good showing, managing to keep the score respectable, but were never in the game against a very strong team who easily dominated their pool.
Sunday saw a very early start for the Survivors, 8.30 kick-off. This being a knock-out game, the Survivors rested well, and started bright and early to make sure they were ready for the game. All that dedication didn't pay off though, as the Survivors struggled early on against a more awake Flying Kukaris team. Had the game gone another 5 minutes things could have been different, but it was not to be! |
