RWC20112011 sees the 7th Rugby World Cup taking place in New Zealand. The tournament will run during September and October, and is one of the largest international sporting events in the world (only surpassed by the FIFA World Cup, the Olympic Games, and the Tour de France). It's going to be a huge year for rugby, and the Survivors plan to be right in the thick of things. On that note, there will be a Survivors RFC reunion in New Zealand during the World Cup - check out the Facebook Group for more information.

xiamenOn the playing front, the Survivors are going to be ramping up their activities in 2011. As always, the Survivors' primary focus will be the Yellow Sea Cup. With the addition of the Xiamen Typhoons, it is now a 5 team event. The Survivors will play two games in the spring (one home and one away) and another two in the fall (again one home and one away). That means two trips to China - Shanghai & Xiamen. The Survivors will also be travelling to Tokyo this summer for a rematch with the Tokyo Gaijin in the annual Oakwood Cup, and will be travelling to the Philippines in the spring to take part in the Manila 10s.

At home, the Survivors will continue to push the growth of the Korea 10s League. With a very successful competition last year, we'll be looking to grow the event this year, with increased participation, better organisation, bigger venues, and bigger parties.

Over the course of the year, the Survivors will play four matches against the top teams in Korea. These will provide a huge challenge to the Survivors, and really test how much the club has developed.

That's a lot of rugby! Nine highly competitive 15s games across Japan, Korea, and China; a 10s tournament in the Philippines; and a whole bunch of 10s tournaments across the Korean peninsula. Not to mention all the other things going on - touch tournaments, community activities, and social events.

It's going to be a busy year!
