The Asian games has included rugby since the 1998 games - showing the Olympics how it's done. Korea dominated the first four events, winning gold at each one. In 2006, Korea came very close to continuing this trend, losing a very close final to Japan 27-26.
However, a shock defeat in the group phase this year (losing to China 5-12), meant Korea met Japan in the semi-finals. They lost the game 15-28, but managed to take revenge over China in the 3rd/4th play-off, winning 21-14 to secure a bronze medal.
Adding a bronze to their tally, keeps Korea top of the Asian Games Rugby medal table with 6 medals from 6 events.
